If you already have Sims 3 games on your system - do not download unless/until you move those files into a segregated area. The demo attaches to your current games and removes all of your store content and for many people, including me, then crashes. I had to uninstall the demo and them uninstall and reinstall ALL of my Sims 3 games because I couldn't play after uninstalling the demo....I lost EVERYTHING! All of my sims, custom content, EVERYTHING! I spent an entire day I can never get back reinstalling my Sims games. There's no recourse because we all check the little box before we download that says we accept the product as-is and agree that EA bears no liability. Still - there's a reasonable expectation that the producer of the game will not release a demo that is utterly defective. Even after uninstalling the Sims 3 pets it would not run. I had to uninstall all 3 expansions I have in addition to the base game and re-install all of them over again.
